Ive fully recovered from my cracked rib incident that happened while out interval running on the morning of the new year. I am running daily, and have been upping the intensity on the restistance bands. I have been listening to my body, not rushing the process – an injury will set you back way longer than it needs to if you dont focus on healing correctly. My body is says – its time to lift again.

So saturday I will be back in the gym. I plan on a moderate intensity full upper body workout. I have no kids this weekend, so I can take my time in a nice empty gym. Bliss.

However, its also a) paycheck day at the end of the week, which means b) I stock up on 80% of the protein I will consume in the month, and freeze portions accordingly.

Now, Im torn. Towards the end of last year I found a really high quality whey isolate that is completely keto supportive. Not every keto “friendly” product is supportive of a ketogenic lifestyle. “Keto friendly” just means it wont bite you in the ass like a big glass of soda will. Keto supportive – different story. Always read the label. Then buy a little bit and try it out. See what it does to your ketosis. See what it does for your energy. How do you feel after using it for a few days? Bloated? Slower? Or still strapped to the ketosis rocketship?

I found a really good whey isolate that keeps me in ketosis. Its by “MyWellness” and I use a few of their products when I suppliment my ketogenic strategy. I can buy a big bag, 3kgs, which works out to 100 servings of 25grams pure whey isolate. And its delicious. Thats half the months worth of required protein.

OR, for slightly less money – I can double my meat for the month. Sure its more work, but I enjoy the cooking.

Whole foods are always better than processed. And yes, Whey isolate is definitely processed – but supportive of muscle growth and to a degree – fat loss.

I will sleep on this. I have until Friday to descide.
